i've seen 2 in great condition within the past year on rochester craigslist, and a few more on ebay. There not common, and when i do see them they do pretty well $, but those numbers seem awfully low based on what i've seen.

I am the original owner of mine and when I bought mine there were two sitting on the show room floor. I don't know how many were actually produced but I don't believe that 250 is the correct number.

Just for the L of it?

"I think I've seen way too many of them for that to be true."
        Hi Marty,
but how many of these were real ones?
All you need is access to powdercoat & plating facilities to take a normal XS11SG or SH and turn it into one?

With a starting number of 4H3-000101 and my number 4H3-002447 I think that means more then 250 made.

Probably forgot a zero when putting that web page together. Probably more like 2500. I have a MNS and it is the only one I have seen in person.

2500 is still a really low production number.

I haven't seen many lately, but it seems they were extremely popular back in the day. I knew folks who had them back then.

I once worked at a very large Yamaha dealer in Oregon and we had several of them on the floor at one time.

Yamaha was just learning that the black bike sells at the time and there were more MNS made of other models of the later bikes than the XS11.

I have been taking parts off a midnight special, with a bad motor, it has a hole in the piston, but ran before I tore it down. Ive been putting them on a regular special, has the gold rims, gold air box etc. Later 'Dog
