Put the Mikes XS 16 mm MS on my 78E
last year. Works great!! Highly recommended.

Fddlefoot - are you sure it isn't rebuildable? The rebuild kits go for about $20 which is much less expensive than the full monty.
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

If you have the original buckhorn bars on your SF you may not like the one from Mikes or Parts N More. The resevior is not angled. I bought one for mine before I switched bars. At the angle of the bars the fluid was just barely covering the hole. I ended up rebuilding my orignal one and it worked fine.

Once I switched to bars that were much less angled the one from Mike's worked great. I like the lower profile, cleaner look of it.

            Thanks

Already rebuilt and is spongier than hell so that looks to be out saw that one on mikes but still have buckhorns and love them so that doesn't sound real promising damn. Anymore ideas

Spongy is usually a sign of air in the line. Are you sure you bled all the air out when you rebuilt? Also, when your bleeding the master cylinder if you pull the handle too far it can make the little rubber plunger thing come off it's seat. They recommend putting a two-by-four between the brake handle and the grip when bleeding the master cylinder to insure you don't pull it too far. Also, after bleeding the system you may need to add more brake fluid as some air bubbles can migrate up through the hoses. And last, but not least, there are a couple spooge holes under the reservoir that sometimes get plugged.

How are your brake lines? If you still have the original rubber lines it may be time to upgrade.
