  • Color XS1100G USA Schematic

    It is finished.

The 140K version is much clearer.

It is resizable and my inkjet printer makes a legible print on a single sheet of 8.5"x11" plain paper.
It looks better on a sheet of semi-gloss photo paper.

I printed out and taped up a nine page banner on trash/recycle paper for the garage.

That way I don't care if it gets greasy and I can read it without a magnifying glass.

    Enjoy!

Ahh, it's not that hard to read schematics, cloerts, but it's a complete [FITB] to read and troubleshoot
with ones that are wrong and printed poorly in microscopic black and white print on a single page.

Chop, anyone else - y'all can do whatever you want with the drawing. My book says it's almost the
same as the E and F models except for the hazard switch and the live 30 Amp circuit that runs them when
the key is in the Off postition (turn that key to Lock, Scott!) I can't trust the manual though, so, have fun!

I had to redraw the entire schematic from scratch with MSPaint to get a clear, printable, image. The one in my
spendy factory manual is almost illegible, totally scanless.

I put the image on my free stash web page so the link and filename will stay the same if the hosting service
I've been using goes the way of the dodo or I discover and fix any more undocumented features.

Basically, I've been killing time (does it show?) waiting for a new wheel bearing and that bearing arrived today
so I get go riding this weekend after pulling the rear wheel!

        Regards,

        Scott

Nice ... Love that the connectors are shown....

in detail ... always been a source of aggravation to me. Did you start with the color schematics in the back of the Haynes or did you draw it from scratch?

Tj, it is a 1980 XS1100G USA model and I have no reason to suspect anyone has replaced the stock harness
with one from a different model. The part number tag on the harness itself is completely faded and yellowed.
I scanned it anyway at high resolution and tried a few assorted tools to enhance any remaining vestiges of
the part number but, alas - "It's gone, McCready!"

Wiz, I don't have Clymer's or Haynes' manuals, just the Yamaha factory manual.

The schematic is drawn from scratch using MSPaint with the actual parts in hand and the wiring harness unwrapped
and split open in my lap along with the Yamaha factory service manual.

DJ, if you think it looks odd now, try zooming it to 800% in MSPaint and scrolling through it with a 19" LCD monitor
to justify text and fix misplaced/extra pixels and crooked lines! <boggle>

I fixed the turn signal colors in the Pilot Box expansion as I had the colors reversed and I added a few more
resistance values while I had the editor open, too.

Now it's time to go change that rear wheel bearing I got yesterday so I can go riding this weekend!

                  model year

I asked about the year because you have this drawing labeled 1981 and I thought you had said in the other thread that it was an '80. Just curious. Again, nice job.
