Hi Chrisso,
I fitted these to an FJ1200 in a custom frame with CBR wheels and wide yokes (no pics!) and they worked well!
Start the diagnosis like you would on anything else; are ALL the pistons free?... and the caliper slides?.... are the pads OK?..not oily?.... not ancient?..... not fried?
Are the lines in reasonable condition and the lines bled properly?
Once you get through that lot, you need to look at the conversion!.....Are the adaptor plates strong enough?..... if they can bend even a little, only a small area of pad will be in contact with the disc (you should be easily able to tell by the pads!)
Are the calipers held in the correct place on the disc?...... Not misaligned?
It does not matter what the master came from, only that it is the correct bore size, and that it is working properly!
ALL masters are marked on the outside with the bore. Twin discs are usually 5/8" (16mm) while the XS is 11/16". I would guess that the Honda calipers would need the usual 5/8"?.....
RG250 was multi-piston, twin disc, so should be OK?
My FZR brakes were worked by an RD350LC master for years, and were/are excellent!
Let us know what you find.
