Vetter Headlight vibes

The headlight adjuster on my Vetter vibrates at around 2100 rpm +/- 200 rpm. It can get very annoying and I've try a couple of things to make it stop. They haven't worked.

Has anyone else run into this and if so, have you been able to fix it?

- drive at 1850 rpm
- drive at 2350 rpm



Or, try wrapping a large rubber band around the shaft of the adjusting knob so it fills up some of the space under the knob.

- take the fairing off
- take the headlight out

Maybe I'll set the idle at 2350 and I won't have to go through that range.

When I do that I can't get the duct tape to hold the flashlight straight.

That rubber band has got me thinking. Maybe I'll take a piece of air hose and slit it lengthways to fit under the knob. (Haven't figured out how to take the knob off yet.) I've been trying from the inside with rubber washers between the spring and the fairing, to no avail.

Mine does the exact same thing. Annoying as he** . If I just adjust it a 1/4 turn either way it will stop for awhile. These small adjustmetns do not seem to move the light up or down very much.

That's exactly what I found, emphasis on "for awhile". With the cycle sound installed its not so easy to reach under and adjust it.

I'll try to figure out something this weekend, I'll be sure to post a solution if I find it.

Last night before I went for a short ride I cut the end of an old spark plug boot. Plug end, not wire end. I cut it to the match the gap between the headlight knob and the fairing. I then sliced it down the side so I could open it and stick it around the adjusting shaft.

You can't see it because the knob hides it.

I didn't notice anymore noise!
