Looks like I have it set to 2, and its reading perfect. Hopefully you'll get the same results

Did you make sure to expose the copper wire first on the red wire? And make sure that it's contacting the metal inside where the black one goes in?

yeah i did that........ but i will pull it off and double check it to be sure it didnt slip off.

                  cloerts,
I think your cable is busted in the tube going down to the wheel, that is why it bounces like crazy. if we are lucky we could pull the old internals out of mine and slip it into yours and it would be fixed.....since i dont use that cable anymore.

BTW.... i got your bike to go pretty quick...hehehe walked right away from the KZ...all i know is that the speedo was pegged and bouncing...haha. i asked jason how fast we were going and he said he wasent sure but we were waaay past the last known mark on the KZ.....85.

I will put the 140 speedo on it after work today.

                    Missing bolt?

geniusloerts, it looks like you're missing a bolt on the steering stem.

Is it just an old picture?

                      3Phase,

are you talking about the one that holds the upper tree?

                      I took those last night.

Yes, there is supposed to be a bolt going through that open hole shown in your picture underneath
the large chromed bolt on the top of the triple tree.

where did you ground the tach sensor wire?

Have you tried hooking it up to the stock white tach wire from the stator? If the new tach can't handle the AC signal from the stator, a inexpensive diode will rectify it to pulsed DC.

If the tach won't work or stops working: the charging system is on the fritz; you used a diode that was just a tad too inexpensive; the tach is bad.
