  • where is carb, emulsion tubes, part

Hi carb gurus, I am rebuilding the carbs on an 80 midnite and have all the parts in and mostly cleaned but cannot locate these emulsion tubes, part d in the pic,,,,where are they so I can clean them???. thanks for those that can lead me to sanity....Mike in san diego. This is the bike the test pilot dummy rode to the Yosemite rally, it runs but a little rough so it was time for the carb go through.

The main jet threads into the bottom of the tube which must be withdrawn through the top of the carb after the CV slides have been removed.

As Rob said the main jet screws (looks like Part B) into the bottom of the emulsion tube. You need to remove the top of the carb and the CV slide. Flip it upside down. After I remove the main jet, I use a small socket to tap the tube out Be sure you don't shear off the brass pin that aligns the emulsion tube, that's what the notch in the lower end is for. I then dip in carb cleaner for a bit the clean it up with Qtips and needles to ensure all the emulsion ports are open.
