I recently installed a 1197 kit into my XS. Two hundred miles after the installation, I happened to look into the #1 cylinder while doing a plugs read. I found what looks like a crack and some severe scuffing on the cylinder wall. The pistons had the correct clearance, and the rings had the Wiseco recommended end gap. The motor was not abused, and showed no signs of over heating. I don't think that it is a wrist pin clip that popped out as the scuffing is not near that area. Has any one else had a problem with the 1197 kits? I'm starting to think that the 1179 kits, leaving a bit more cylinder thickness, might be a better idea. Oh well back to ripping the motor apart again.
