Finally got those suckers loose with a cheater bar (1" pipe to stick the 12mm wrench in) and now it seems to be hanging on something.

Pulled the 4 bolts off the U-joint plate and the 7 torx screws from the middle drive. It broke loose and tries to come out (separates from the transmission) but seems to be hanging on the shaft. Am I going to have to pull that shaft back through the swing arm regardless to make room for the middle drive to come out? The Clymers doesn't seem to address the middle drive at all other than how to check the oil in it.

Just stick a big screwdriver in between that flange the 4 bolts were on and the U joint and pry it apart a bit, pushing the Ujoint to the rear. The U joint has a tiny lip on it that kind of centers it on that flange for assembly. You'll only need an 1/8th inch to clear it.

        It'll come off.

As much as I hate to see that happen to anyone I must say it did make me go out and not only check , but change my middle drive oil. I do thank you for the video as it is very informative to people like me who have never had one apart. Good luck with that.
