Did a bunch of troubleshooting today. Ruled out the coils, pickups, and all the wires in between so I am back to the TCI. My brother in-law works on small electronics for a living. He is going to see if he can figure out which component is not working.

spray starter fluid at the carbs to the cylinders not firing.
Have you pulled the plugs and checked for spark? Insert plug in wire and touch the tip of the plug to the block and turn it over. Keep your fingers as far from the wire end as you can when you do.
Have you checked continuity in the wires leading to everything?

yes to all of it. Pulled plugs to verify no spark. Checked continuity on all wires. Swapped connections on the coils and got spark so we knew the coil wasn't bad. Swapped connections to the pickups nd had no change in conditions which lead us back to the TCI. . We are gonna disassemble it and check all to the components on the board. This is not something I would normally do myself but my brother in-law does this type of stuff for a living and has the knowledge and tools to do it right. Unfortunately I will have to wait until tuesday for him to be able to do it. On a positive note, I am getting a better understanding of the electrical system on this bike.Harry

I think we got it fixed. Took the TCI apart. removed and tested most components on the board. Didn't really find anything wrong. Re-soldered everything back on the board. Put it on the bike and had spark. I need to finish putting the bike back together but I do believe it to be fixed. Thank you to everyone who chimed in to help me troubleshoot this.
P.S. If anyone has any "dead" TCI's laying around that they don't want, I will pay shipping to get them. The prices that these are going for on Craigslist and ebay are rediculous.Harry
