  • Coil upgrade caps

Once I sell my saddle bags I'm going to get the coils from mikexs and from what I gather they need to be the 17-6803 P/N the ones that are 3ohm. So my next question is does it matter the resistance on the plug caps because he sells 5kohm and 1kohm caps. Also under the same section as the coils it has NGK plugs and it claims a 2hp gain so my question is what one of those will fit a 79XS1100 SF if any? One last question if I get those coils can I take the ballast resitor out?
    Thanks in advance.

    coils + caps

    Coils, 17-6803, correct.
Caps, 23-3113 5kohm, correct, but cyls 2+3 usually use a longer plug cap, but these will work.
Plugs, the BPR7EIX are 1 heat range colder than recommended for our engines, plus they are resistor plugs, which you don't need unless you have some kind of radio on your bike. If you want NGK irdium plugs without resistor, I believe the correct # would be BP6EIX, auto parts store might have them. The number for the regular plug is BP6ES.
