This message is for Chopper or anyone else who has experience with rigid frames for xs11's.
Chopper, I would love to build a bike something like yours. I love the look of that frame. Could you please give me some information on the exact details of making a rigid frame for the XS11. Any frame measurements, rakes, stretches, seat pan diagrams etc would be great. Do I need to construct a frame jig? what frontend setup did you use? Any info at all is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for all of you help.

,as for your questoins..where do i start? making a frame, this can be done using the stock frame,if you are carefull and weld on temopary braces before you cut you can do all the work without a jig.to build from scratch you are best with a jig or at least a surface which is completely true(a machined surface like a blade from a large industrial gillotine or similar)then using squares and a plum line you can get the right results. frame measurements measure your stock frame, and work from your other components, rake and trail is a science in its self.if you give me some idea of your plans i can advise, its possible to run radical front ends with reasonable handling.stretches etc are to personal taste(but need to be taken into consideration re rake etc) seat pans make a card template to suit your seat rails/fender my front end its a standard xs1100 front end with one off trees and spacers for discs and a new fender, goodrige hosing etc hope this helps? my advice is that if you cant figure it out you should get help(a person with a lot of expierience) or make a couple of frames from cheap tubing (not to ride!!! just for a "learning curve") that said feel free to ask any questions cole your welcome to any help i can give.cheers ps measure twice cut once
