    Hi ChevyBoy

A clever chap just told me how to mark the areas in red that need filing, please use a needle file and gentle smooth out the ridges so its flat like new again on both these areas on the basket cradle and basket hub. You will clearly see the lead and follow side of wear according to the direction of travel. Once finished, please make sure you really clean off all the crude before assembling.

Thanks trbig for the 'art' info

        Clutch

Will the Entire Clutch assy. From My 1981 XS650 fit the 1981 XS1100?

I would Try Swapping the Basket and Everything, IF someone knows that it will fit.

              Yep,

Tap it for a bigger bolt, or find one of the self tapping ones at the auto store....I've heard that they have them for just this sort of thing, just need to take the old bolt, or good measurements with you, don't know the sizes they have available?

You could try using thread lock and let it dry, then inserting it, or using pipe thread tape, the vinyl type. Wrap a couple of turns around the plug. You could retap the hole the next size up and use a bolt that size if you cannot find another plug of that size.

The stock plug does not go clear to the end. You can go to the "helper" section of the auto parts store and get a longer plug. They are slotted on the end to help with thread clean-out. The one I got came with nylon washers. Highly recommended so as not to strip the remaining threads.

Oil leak eh ... ok ... I must ask ... how much oil is in the engine while testing the clutch? Is the oil level right up to normal level while on main stand after each disassembly process? Sometimes when we get overly focused on an issue we can overlook other simple things.

OK, Thanks for All the Quick Reponses. I am going to head over to the Auto Parts House to See if I can find a Plug.

                      The Thread is 14MM*1.5 Pitch.

My oil Level was Perfect Everytime that I went to Test out the clutch. The last time I went to put the Plug in it stripped, And I tryed to put some oil in it,BUT it started dripping out from Around the plug.
