You may want to check voltage to see how much you have at idle.It might just be a flasher going bad or a poor connection somewhere .Like maybe building too much resistance ,then once you rev higher and generate more electricity it has enough power to overcome resistance. My signals work with bike not running with key on.80 SG XS1100

flash
The flasher unit can be taken apart and the contact points can be cleaned with some fine grit sandpaper. Did this to both of mine, now they work fine.2H7 (79) owned since '89

I agree with everyone here. My low rpm flasher problem went away when I cleaned all of the connections and replaced the fuse box with the automotive spade fuse type.Tim Ripley - Gaithersburg, MD

Its either 2 options. I have the same problem on a few bikes. It could be a low voltage at idle. (sometimes caused by a bad REG/RECT - check the diodes) It is most likely dirty connections. Clean every connection in the signal light systemUnited States Merchant Marine Academy, Kings Point, NY
If I can do it at 18 yrs old, anyone can
