    help- missing key part

I know it was there when I took the rear axle out...but sure can't find it now. I'm not sure what you call it (spacer? dust shield?) but I need it. Does anyone out there have one I could buy?

On another note I've checked other threads regarding the order of things as you put the axle back in...but I'd like to verify that for an SG...

is this right???? looking from the rear...

Castle nut (on L side)...axle through wheel; THE PART I'M MISSING; caliper bracket; torque plate; pinch bolt.

    Thanks!!

They have it...but want !9.00 plus shipping (ouch). I'm still hoping to find mine (I'll tear the garage apart tomorrow.

Regarding my other question, is the parts lineup correct for an SG?

              thanks, Keith

                lineup

That looks like the setup on my 79 Special, except I have another small spacer to the right of my torque plate. I'm not 100% sure that mine is set up correct (rotor not exactly centered in caliper bracket).

That is not correct phil. The sequence is from inside out: Collar, caliper bracket, and torque plate. The axle has a shoulder that will seat it against the collar, cal brcket, and torque plate. The pich bolt on the frame is to be tightened last. The frame will center itself on the axle, and the pinch bolt will hold it. There will be some of the axle visible between the torque plate and the frame.

                      spacer

Thanks for pointing that out, John. The spacer I have in there must be left over from when I was running a 17" rear wheel on there (had to make up spacers because of narrower rim).
