Well, I have decided to yank the MSD iggy. It has done my more bad than good. It stole my midrange for whatever reason, top end is about the same, starts a little easier. So what I want to do is see if I can keep the coils. They are 1.5 ohm MSD coils. This came up before when I want to test the bike one component at a time and someone said something about using a ballast resistor so I could run it with my stock iggy...? Can it be done, or should I just try to sell them and get different high perf coils?

You may be able to run them with the resistor, but your TCI box isn't set up for it. I would just go with the Mikesxs HP coils for $35 each. Or, you CAN spend about $100each for some Accel coils that put out about 10% more. Your money, your call.

I think what I will do is sell them, and hold out to do the GM DIS with the Megasquirt like Stan did. However, I haven't got to test the bike with the stock coils back on to make sure that is was the MSD robbing me of power and not something else I screwed up when I had everything apart. I am also trying out the 'Coil Repowering Mod' that works so well on some of the other old bikes like my buddies KZ.
