ok just checked out the parts cache and I found what DB was referring to however... there were two sizes given for a main jet...one said #170.0 and another listed says #112.5 so just wondering abt this?

        Ben,

I just checked the fiche. Your main jet is part #40 on the list. the other one is a main AIR jet. Your stock main jets are 112.5 .

Also, the table says go up 1 PILOT jet size for every 3 main size increases. So you'll need one size larger pilot jet. Your stock pilot is #47.5, one up would be a #50.

Sorry about the confusion. I should have looked more closely.
I think I have a loose screw behind the handlebars.

                Genius,

I just put n100/604 mains and bs 80/96 type pilots in mine and they work great. I got them from Jets R Us but mikesxs has the same parts for less money.

Thanks Randy!I will be looking as to where to find the best prices...although this isnt expensive right?...so applying the rest of the formula to what we now know...112.5 stock size...up 4 jet sizes over stock * 2.5 = 10 so the new jetting should be 122.5 coupled with the pilot jet going from 47.5 to 50.0

                    one further question

Seeing that I bought the Dynojet kit last year...it has occurred to me that there might be better brands or manufacturers...any suggestions...?

                      Learning quickly

Ok I think I will go with the Mikuni jets...lol...one problem i see on the jets r us site is that four sizes over stock (112.5) is actually 125.0 so thats not exactly what i was expecting in terms of the formula previously applied..comments?

I looked at MikesXS and their main jet sizes jump from 120 to 125 also. They do have a 122.5 main jet, but it's the kind with the small head.

Cycle Recycle has the mains, but not the pilots.

Stock pilot jets are 42.5 not 47.5. I think Randy had a typo. If you put a 50 pilot jet in....it's way to big.

                              For a 79 standard, you're right.

Look up the fiche for an 82 XJ, it lists 47.5 pilots.
