Just a short tip to anyone who doesn't know. When replacing bearings you don't have to pay for the expensive originals from the dealers, you can get them from most truck or auto parts stores quicker and for a lot less money. This may have already been posted ,but I thought it was worth saying again in case the new guys missed it.

Somewhere buried in my garage are my parts catalogs and if I could find them, I'd repost the numbers.

That would be good information to have, especially for the guys without a Yamaha shop close by. My old Yamaha shop was more of a chain saw, dirt bike, and ATV shop. In 23 years I never saw more than a couple new street bikes sold there.Fastmover

The manufacturer and number of the bearing (not the end seller) is usually on the side of the bearing. It can be very small, but it's usually there.
2 or 3 companies make bearings for thousands of suppliers.Pat Kelly

i've got a bearing supply warehouse here that i can get almost any bearing or seal available....name is bearing services...in warren, michigain on 9 mile road.....great place and good prices.....just my 2 cents....ross

The bearings have the standard numbers written on them (6303, 6404, etc). Any bearing supply house will have all three that we use regularly except the magic left rear one.Comment

Well, to my limited knowledge, no one has yet found a replacement for the rear-left bearing. Let us know if you come across that! Ooops, Randy beat me to it.

Here's another tip.
Don't have the spray lithium grease on the bench when you are using spray carb cleaner to clean a carb. Don't ask!
