NO...you don't want to use RTV on the rubber gas gauge sending unit plate!
Either get a gasket sealant that is designed for fuel/oil, or find a peice of neoprene that you can cut to shape to replace it with. RTV does not work well with FUEL!

- I got to disconnect 2 identical white with 2 black stripes cable above the fuse box. I reconnected them without knowing if I reversed them, nor why since everything is color coded, these two are confusing on purpose
Hi Greg,
if two wires have the same coloration it's most likely they do the same thing so swapping them won't hurt.
Are the pics of a triangular flanged aluminum casting full of rust and orange goo your brakes? If so a complete teardown, cleanout & rebuild is a must.
As a safety-related thing, fix the brakes FIRST.
