  • Bike won't start

Ok , between running and now all I did was the pickup wire fix. And It had previously been done by the PO but it was sh-tty so I redid it and used heat shrink. left plenty of slack for flexibility. If some how I did it wrong would this prevent it fron starting. I had also put the GSXR1100 carbs on. When I was trying to start it with those on I figured it was the carbs , so I put my old ones on and it still wont start, not even trying really. I checked for spark on cylinders 1,3,4 and it is there. Checked all the fuses, they are good. Any Ideas??
    Thanks for your replies.

    audi,

Is it possible that you inadvertently swapped the pickups (1-4 and 2-3)?

Reverse the spark plug leads to test my theory, move 2-3 to 1-4 and 1-4 to 2-3 and try to start it.

      inadvertently swapped the pickups

And now for a "Totally Wasted" spark system

BTW, might want to make but one serious mod or change at a time. Can help prevent premature balding due to head scratching

I guess there is a reason Randy has GURU status. You were spot on. I wired them backward. Runs good now. Can I leave the like that or should I rewire??
Now I get to try these gsxr carbs A gain.
Man I miss riding that beast been about 7 months.

Glad it worked out. Don't ask me how I knew that!

You can leave it that way and re-mark your plug wires so you don't have to remember what you did.
