I'd say the shroud is cosmetic and not necessary. Find one if you can. $51 is a great deal..about $50 less than I paid for my set of parts that were posted separately (adapter/line/radiator). I told the seller they should never break up the full set, but I;'m sure it bid the total price higher as you bid to get all 3 parts.

I just ordered new o-rings/seals for mine on Bike Bandit (link a few messages upstream.)

Let me know how you ended up on brackets and mounting locations

The plastic cover is purely decorative; All the Euro bikes had coolers, only the late versions had covers...... none of my bikes have the cover!
