Here's the update. I finally took the carbs off,triple cleaned them,checked all of the seats, repaired the bad brass float. I kept all four brass floats,bypassed the octy, put it all back together ( with help from this forum),synced the carbs with help from an old yammy mech who is locale. Took it for a ride this morning and it runs like a scalded dog. Thanks for all the info and help. Bob
