Vetter head light removal

I have a windjammer fairing with the plastic head light bucket and the retaining ring is plastic too. Looks like the bulb is a single unit, not like reg. H4

No screws hold the ring on. Bottom center of bucket has a small plastic tap sticking out next to ring.

Would think that it is for releasing the ring so I tried pushing it one way and then the other and pulling on the ring.

Ring holding bulb did not come off.

I'm either missing something or not applying enough pressure???

Anybody know for sure how it comes off???

I believe I pushed in and turned the ring at the same time to remove the headlight.

Round headlight in a Vetter, right? It has been a while, but IIRC, there is a tab that you push in, or up, or some direction, which releases some plastic locking mechanism, which allows you to rotate the assembly slightly CW or CCW, which allows the entire works to come apart. Sorry I can't be more definite, but it has been a nice evening with good friends over a home made stew with a few bottles of nice wine, etc, etc. Maybe tomowrrow morning I'll spend a few minutes with the search tool to come up with the definitive procedure for headlight removal. Or not...

Push the tab, rotate the ring CCW, remove. Sometimes the ring does NOT want to rotate, so rock it CC and then CCW once or twice to break the dead bugs loose.

Thanks rockjok for the site, all I found was a site which showed some of the history of vetter. (have you guys seen his attempt at flying?)
One thing is that mine is a plastic ring rather than chrome...

I did push it back, pulled it forward, while pushing, then pulling, and twisting the ring etc.. Did not try pushing tab "in" tho.

I be strong, er maybe stronger than DiverRay,
but not as strong as Prom...
(don't stand down wind of Prom...if ya know what I mean

Force applied was tempered so not to FUBAR ring/bucket.
Later today will give it another go. If next pic shows a chrome ring on the bucket...you'll know what happened

At least I don't whine about my mechanical inadequacies... or sit around getting "stewed" with my friends(not that I have any).
"The Prom Way" was to pry the little bugger off first, (thinking it was stuck)... then finding the locking mechanism.
