Seating the Valve Stem Seal

I was wondering if anyone still watched this thread. I was reading and noticed that there was no response to the question of how do you install the valve stem seals.

If this is the wrong forum for this please re-direct me to the correct posts

Valve stem seals are usually replaced with a valve job. The EASY way is with the head removed, and the valves removed from the head. You put new seals in as you reinstall the valves.

Hi John,
As Ray said much easier to do with the head off,
The springs have to be removed to get access to the seals,
the seals can be removed with pliers, to put back on, i slip
the valve back in coated with a light film of oil, then slip the seal over the valve and with an appropriate size socket over the top, push down on the seal making sure it sits square and secure.
Prior to stripping the head, check the valves for leakage, place the head on its side and fill the ports with petrol, there should be no seapage coming from the valve and seat.
