Thanks guys,my cam chain will last forever with proper care or at least out last me:-) No grand kids or kids of my own to give to,mmm X said she would like to have, nada, not going to happen.
I'll take it with me.
Well, finally got around to readjusting cam chain.Took trbig's suggestion, push it in all the way, tighten bolt, reinstall and loosen bolt.Definately heard it slap.Engine is not noisy this time. Thanks for all the feedback.I think possibly the first time I did it the tensioner might have been bound up maybe from slight side pressure on the plunger,or slight burr on it.I did not take it all the way apart to see.Anyways, all is good!
My XJ book doesn't specify either way... but I do it cold also. I don't want to be reaching in and around hot header pipes. That sizzling sound you hear right before you actually feel pain.... thinking to yourself, "Man, that's gonna hurt..."

Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.
You can live to be 100, as long as you give up everything that would make you want to live to be 100!
