See... I was just trying to be nice and offer a fellow XJ'er a ride since he was afoot. I can't do that very often since mine seems to be broke down more than on the road... But hey.. if your ego saw a hit, then so be it. I called you big boy... because you'd just stuffed your gut at Pam's and you looked a bit pregnant. Just trying to help out before your ankles swelled. lol..

Well Ben I always was Xsive...way before I had any XS. I pretty much go full tilt whatever I'm doing. Zilla wasn't treated any differently.

It's just that when ya throw that much money into one of these old bikes you really can't expect to get even half of it back. At last count on my Zilla budget spread sheet I think it rang up about $13,500.

                Ben

Just because I have the much in it doesn't mean I expect to get anywhere near that out of it.

Right now there are 8 or 9 Vetters on Ebay. As far as the bags you'll just have to wait until some early Venture Royale bags pop up. It took me several months of looking but finally found some.

But then I had to build custom frames for them to fit.

It's a never ending process building one of these things. Just ask Dave Jackson.

Actually my "alarm system of choice" is an 85 lb Weimeraner and Springfield XD .45 ACP with a 13 round clip............

I am much the same way. That's probably how the high priest sells his slick customs. The guys buying them don't have to do any work...just ride 'em.

Hmmm...well I lost that bet BIG TIME. That is unless the guy doesn't show. And that is a common problem with big ticket items on Ebay.

Of course I wouldn't be surprise if Tod isn't pulling some Ebay prank on me just to get even for the Senator Craig poke!

Anyway Zilla will departing my garage to the tune of $7,901 dollars. And I'm sure I'll be crying.................................all the way to the bank...

But as they said in Jerry McGuire..."Show me the money".

I realize that physical things are just "Stuff", but I can't believe after all the time you have into it to get it set up how you want it, you're selling it. I could even maybe understand it if you were turning a profit... but I just don't get it.

But... it's yours to do with as you want.

                              Yes...indeed it is.

The big lizard is still sitting in my garage. So until someone shows up with the money...it's like Yogi said..."It ain't over 'til it's over." Ebay is chock full of blow hards that bid on stuff then never show.

                              We'll see.

Besides if the guy flakes out...his loss. Next time I put it up (next spring) it will likely go for a helluva lot more than $7900.

Besides I have a '79 Standard in the garage that needs a little "zip" in the seat of the pants....if ya know what I mean

                                Tod

Not that I owe you nor anyone an explanation...but I do want you to understand something. Me selling Zilla is the same as me selling my CD Project.

That's right Tod...you may not have known this but I am musician, songwriter and vocalist. Actually I am an artist. I love to create stuf and share it with other people.

Oh yeah...I'm scientist by education and I love geology. But one of my passions in life is art and creativity.

For instance I have created several recordings. I put just as much...maybe more....blood sweat and tears into those creations as I ever did Zilla into a CD project. The whole point of creating something like this is to sell it. Not for profit per se but to share it with others. Hopefully they'll get something out of it. Hopefully I will be able to enhance their lives with my creativity.

Miles Baker (yes my XSive best friend and the one at Talihina) and I worked countless hours to create several recordings. He was my producer. Yep Miles is a recording engineer, musician, and producer. We spent hundreds of hours in a studio in north Tulsa and thousands of dollars. We cursed....we laughed....we cried...we literally balled up our fists at each other.

Actually I've produced other peoples albums now....in my studio...because of this seed Miles planted in me.

It's not all about profit. It is sooooo much more than that dude. But that is another issue altogether. It's an artist "thing".

In the process this is what we produced....

                                Griffin: Not Of This World

I plan on doing another in the near future....another Eleven AND another CD!
