Forgot exactly where --- someone a few months ago on one of the XS lists said one can buy a Yamaha NOS exhaust system for 78-79 XS11s for just over a THOUSAND DOLLARS US$ !!! whew

Alas - a search today of Ebay, PartsNMore etc produced nada, zip on new XS11 exhaust systems ...

One NZ techie bloke suggested having a new XS exhaust system custom fabbed outta polished stainless steel - had some pics of his homemade set for a '79 XS750 Special - looked pretty neat.

I just had an interesting phone call. Some fella e-mailed me about Zilla's ebay listing and wanted to talk. The phone rang...we talked...he offered $4500.

I said"Hmmmm...you just wantin' to buy the motor?" "No why?" he asked. I said "Because that's how much I have tied up in the engine and transmission alone."

There was dead silence....I waited....nothing....I waited some more....still silence. I said "Hello...hello..." Nothing....he had hung up!

I would agree that it is one of the slickest full dressed Elevens out there. But there are others that are just as slick. But few have a heart and legs like that thing.

                But thanks anyway.

In reality my '82 XJ11 isn't bad but it sure ould use some more upgrading...on 2nd thought maybe I will just sink more $$$ into him.I will have to go back and read what you have done to your Zilla and take notes as to what i can do to Madmax-im

For those of you that didn't know it Tod is kin to Senator Larry Craig of Idaho. He's constantly making passes at me. I'm sure many of you have had the same experiecne with Tod.

The Governor thought he was kinda cute until he rolled up next to us on the street in Talihina...winked at ME and said "Wanna ride big boy." That didn;t set too well with her. She doesn't like when I get more passes than she does.

                          Ben

If I had left the engine stock then 4 or 5 grand would get it. So now everyone knows...at least majority of it. But believe it or not there is more...

I have just copied the ebay ad that lists everything(?)you did to him.I'd say i would need to put in at least $6000.And I would have to find someone who is capable of doing the engine and tranny upgrades.I would problably sell my '95 ST1100 to add another 5 grand to it as well.Sounds a bit XSIVE!BTW where could I find the fairings and hard bags?
