'78 and '79 standard are the same covers. I've gone from one to the other on Daily Ride.
Ray
above from a thread I posted awhile back.
I had pics and discriptions for em all but the 78' and 81' standard.
Must of deleted the pics tho, so just quoted Ray's post for ya

Only a few will interchange. Some where on my other computer I started a list of the differences between models and years. Bunch a things are different year to year etc., but not as many as I've found on Hondas.

Not covers but covers?
Hi Ross,
until I saw MRO's post I thought you meant the cast aluminum engine side covers not the plastic body side covers.
Anyhow, they ain't all identical but if you can't locate the exact proper side cover most orphan side covers can be made to fit with careful use of a Dremel tool to make slots where holes should be and vice-versa.
My '80 Special has a right-side panel off (I believe) a '79 Standard. I had to make a hole and a keyhole where the slots were to make it fit at the top but the plastic knobby thing at the bottom is the same. The panel's shape is not quite the same as the stock left-side panel but nobody can see both sides at once, right?Fred Hill, S'toon

I stand corrected
I was thinking engine covers, not body covers (panels)
But I thought the body interchanged TOO....
