Originally posted by TADracer If the seafoam does not clear up your problem then you might consider servicing the clutch. It is not that hard to do. You can add another steel to take up on friction plate wear and a new set of heavy duty springs are cheap and easy to install.
Stay with the dino oil as synthetics seem to be a bit too slipery for the clutch.
Synthetics slip the clutch?
Darn it...maybe that's why mine slips a bit as well.
Last night I put 1/3 of a can of Sea Foam in the oil and the balance in with a full fuel tank. (hope this helps until I get to do a complete carb service)Went for a short road test, no change.
Checked the clutch cable and clutch adjustment and found I did not properly adjust the clutch the last time. Went for a short road test, a little less slip.
Went for a longer road test this morning and little to no slip at all!
I think I will run it for 2-300 more k's and do another oil change.
Thanks,
Paul

When I used Seafoam in my oil ,I never took it off the center stand . I used a fan for cooling and went through the gears with the engine running for about 20 minutes . THEN I immediately changed the oil to get rid of the bad stuff . I didnt ride the bike with the Seafoam in as It must thin the oil . This is how it was excplained to me .
