Try using the center stand...see if it makes a difference...Still sounds like you need to change out the seals though. My 2 cents.

There may be a post here but...With the side stand already down....put the middle of your right foot on the center stand....balance the bike on BOTH sides of the center stand...put your right hand on the back of the grab rail and pull BACK..it'll go right up.

Oh BTW I only weight about 165...so it's not much muscle...mostly leverage

            Hi Bikenutt,

You should not need to pull "up" much; the main thing that puts the bike up is pushing "DOWN" on the lever on the stand; Wear boots, settle the bike on BOTH feet of the stand, find somewhere comfortable under the seat to grip, and push down hard as you lift..... Should come up like magic!

I used to instruct learner riders. Our demonstration for the novices was for my girl to put the XS on the stand; she was under 5' tall and weighed well under 100lbs.

After seeing that ALL the guys could manage it!

It is technique, not strength; go practice!

Heres an old trick! cut a 6 in. piece of 2x4 at a 45 degree angle when you park put it in ahead of the front tire and use it for a ramp to lift the tire up a little this allows the center stand to drop down lower and adds leverage. You can carry it in your tankbag.or wherever.

You actually carry a 2x4 around?

                    2x4

I said it was an old trick, I didn't say it was my old trick. life comes in only one size the rest of us have to adapt.

I had/still have a 1982 GS1100G Suzuki. It did the same thing. The problem was valve guides. Good Luck.
