Hey Crew,
Here's a list of brands and oil filter's that will work:
autozone SP2
Napa 4933
STP: SMO-2
Wix 24933
Fram CH6002
**Make sure it has BOTH rubber O-rings in the kit, one for the chamber, the small one for the filter bolt!**
OEM Air filter, not sure if it's available from Yamaha still, you can get K&N style by Unifilter from JCW, and probably other sources.

(just my opinon here)....
K&N for the air filter is the way to go. Recommended cleaning interval is 50-100,000 miles. Never needs to be replaced.
Buy one and your set for the life of the bike, no further costs, no need to open the airbox.Pat Kelly

Pat, how can the actual K&N filter stay clean enough to work for 50-100K miles? The dust plus the oil vapors from the crank vent hose I would think cause them to get coated and clogged just like OEM?

K&N air filters do last the life of the bike but still need periodic cleaning. Do not use compressed air on K&N air filters. Wash with low pressure, (Garden hose) do not dry with heat. This is information from the "Two Guys Garage" cable TV car show. FWIW?
