      Hey Bill, and Dean,

Save your $$, but shop around. I had a go at the first ones I showed, straight across, and they turned out a bit more complicated than I expected to try to duplicate! I don't have a nice multi-thousand $$ CNC machine, and wasn't able to get the handlebar cutout sections positioned properly to accommodate the stock top clamps, as well as the right cutout diam/size to grab the bars!

Perhaps I'll try again this winter, but I know I have several folks wanting the SOFCA's, so those are my first priority, along with needing to do a fair amount of work on Godzilla!

      Sorry for the tease!

        Risers

I have 2" up and 1.5" back on Pathfinder, but I don't know where Dave got them. I love them, makes it so much easier to ride long distances. Handling is great.

I have GenMar risers on my Triumph Trophy -- it's a sport touring bike (like the Concours and Beemers) with a very forward riding position that puts a lot of stress on your wrists, arms and neck.

The risers help enormously. The GenMar people are great to talk to -- very helpful.

I'm thinking that the XJ11 I just bought -- with swept back, adjustable handlebars -- doesn't need anything like that, yet ... but I might not mind some GenMars at some point for longer rides.

            Hi LCS,

I am not sure that the setbacks will be useful on your XJ.

You might want to take a closer look at the bike.......

              Hi Alan,

Not planning on adding any setbacks at all, only possibly risers, and only someday.

Right now this bike is supremely comfortable, except for the seat.

I will want to get it changed so that I can actually straighten my knees a bit.

              best, Leon

                Hi LCS,

XJ does not have conventional 'bars; neither setbacks or risers will fit.

                  ah-ha.

                  See what you mean.

So any play will be strictly based on the built-in adjustability -- which is fine with me.

They pretty much do now what I was going for with the Triumph.

                  thanks for the clarification Alan.
