    Hi Guys,

Like I said earlier, the brace which makes most difference is in the form of a "Z"; A pair of crossmembers with a diagonal between.

Additional braces straight across, (Like PGGGs pic) don't make best use of the metal. top rails would be helped more by either fitting diagonals between the existing cross-braces, or fitting (Heavy!) sheet-metal corner braces, like the unmodded "Sport" frame I linked to earlier.

Design and placing of braces for a frame is a bit of an art;and I am only an amateur!

Yes triangles are best. I intend to do one behind the battery and will have to cut the plastic mud guard to fit around it. I also can fit one in the front without getting into cam chain access issues. I have also been told to pretty much just wrap the entire head with an added layer of sheet steel that crosses over on to the frame from the head. I will likely start the cutting of the tubbing this weekend.
