I'm getting bogging, and a little popping thru carb mouth

Gagging, Bogging, A rose by any other name! Bottom line, the filter intakes are restricting airflow, not letting the vacuum slides rise, so that not enough air can get thru the throat along with the fuel that's being drawn thru, choking/clogging the throttle response!

Gotcha. but i forgot something, I've taken the rubbers off, haven't riden it but hear the bogging still,

BUT wait, there is something new, I was gonna go ride after dinner,

HERE GOES, wen't to take off, engine warming up, helmet firmly attached, arse in seat, kick stand up, pull clutch in, select first gear, give the throttle a little bit............

no power, at least not enuf' to take off!

hold a loose fist over each carb openning, wanted to stall on 1 & 4
        not 2 & 3, but got a handful of gas 4 times,

        start taking spark-plug wires off 1 at a time, 1 & 4 firing, not 2 & 3.

REMOVE helmet, kick bike, light a smoke, sit on porch calm down,
I'd even crack open a cold one (if I still drank)

Wel AT LEAST I'm off work all next week, I'll get this worked out if it kill me, or the monster run's off and I buy a brand new-used bike

            Yep, Kens' right!!!

We've read several threads where folks had repaired their PU coils, went on to other things, started running badly again, but because they had "ALREADY" repaired their PU coils, they didn't think it was the problem. Eventually they discovered that their REPAIR wasn't very good and had broken again!

With 2-3 not firing, it's either PU coil, OR the actual ignition coil has gone bad, but check PU first!

Been working on things long enuf' to know the rule,
check previous repairs first, espec. if electrical
already inside the pickup coil area,

found the problem, a very poor solder job, but it was done by light of the moon

repairs in progress, pilfering wiring harness from a spare set I got off EBAY, already used vacuum diaphram, orignal on bike was sticking when advanced

              but I have a question:

the other end of the harness, where is it, think I'd better check wire with volt meter to make sure I'm doing this right,

don't want to do this a 3rd time

The other end of the pick up coil harness is behind the fuse panel.

John is half right, under the fuse panel is the middle of the harness. the end is plugged into the TCI

                    pickup wires repaired, AGAIN!

painted my now BRIGHT YELLOW carb holders black
(see: oh man this is ugly) post

Looked at #1 vacuum diaphragm (noticed that with all filters and rubbers off that it was lagging, not openning as much or as much)
                    nothing offending found,

ran out of daylight, the monster is spread to the four corners of the back-yard, e-bay has supplied quite the collection of new to me chrome parts
                    paint takes time to dry

THE BEST PART IS................I'M ON VACATION ALL WEEK!!!!!!
I swear I'll beat the monster into seeing it MY way, or maybe it will beat me into submission

by the way, I went shopping again, velocity stacks were requested, OK velocity stacks it is.

                    pictures will bee taken

this morning, the monster is really starting to look it should

some of the parts I got off E-BAY didn't fit
I stripped all the paint off the headlight ears and turn signals,
relocated rear turn signal, installed grab bar after making those saddlebags fit, (got those for free)

Now just a few odds and ends,
OH and re-installing the ballast resistor, bracket came off with it

                          help!

                          IT'S BACK TOGETHER, WARMED UP,
TAKE OFF, NO #2 OR #3,
                          2 MILES DOWN THE ROAD,
                          #2 & #3 ARE BACK,
                          PULLED MY ARMS OFF,
WENT SIDEWAYS WHEN I TURNED BACK ON MY ROAD

BACK IN DRIVE WAY #2 & #3 GONE AGAIN

I guess my question is, which one of the pick-ups is for #2 & #3,
is it normally open or closed
and can the pick-up be (fired) manually,

This seems to be my last problem,
except air filters and velocity stacks

                          Unless, of course,
still wanting to ride this ROCKET is a PROBLEM

Wait, I found the repair tip again, it tells me that the bottom one is 2&3 but not if it can be fires manually or not

I think it is a magnetic/induction type, meaning that the wheel turns to trigger the electrical impulse.
