one of my pipes fell off
IT FELL THE F@$% OFF!

no big deal, just THIS morning a guy I work with GAVE me the mufflers
off his '07 SOFTAIL.

but then...it gets worse!

Didn't hook up the charger like I normally do, on thursday. (Stuck out of town)

Made a couple of stops along the way. and then the battery went dead enuf'
to make me have ta' bump start it, MAN THAT SUCKED!
Picture if you will... stopped at a light, bike stalls (MONSTER has a few bad habits, not tame yet! )

where will I find the connectors and what should the reading be

using an ohm meter for testing

Bad battery?,
or poor connections?

there are three white electrical connections behind fuse box which have noticed that they seem to get over looked.

several in head light bucket
couple left side under fuel tank
a few other connectors here and there
as well as grounds to frame

When clean and making good contact
bike at idle, battery should have just over 12V
2500 rpm over 14V

Re: doggone it!

If you have a weak battery, it will fall on its face at a light. Sometimes disconnecting the headlight fuse can help get you home once you get it started again as long as you don't burn the brake lights too long at slow idle.

Was having computer problems last night

got ticked off and shut it off.

my battery is new, I charge it just to be sure I don't have days like that, precautionary only

the harley mufflers ain't on yet,
the pipe that full off was just a straight piece of pipe, no baffles or anything,

Wouldn't own a HARLEY if you paid me!
Rode on the back of a Sportster, once 35 mile trip, Last year,
MY BACK STILL HURTS!

my battery is new,

Got a "bad" new battery last year.
Seemed to take the initial charge just fine.
Installed and everything worked fine for two days then not enough power to start. Got a jump start so rode back to shop, recharged battery and load tested.
Took it back and got another........

always a possibility, one I have had in the past, but still look at last for some reason.

Just went to change oil in the car, IT"S RAINING.
Gotta do that before I can work on monster, swmbo said so.
