what would most likely be the best fit for lenght for rear brake hose replacement on my 1979 xs1100 standard model.
From a KZ1000
From a GPZ 1100
Yam 750 special
Thanks
Rob
If you want to keep the splitter and use the stock routing, just measure the hose lengths (preferably off the bike). I've got a set of hoses at my brother's house that I'll measure if I can remember this weekend.
After that, just order the Russell pieces individually and remember to get new crush washers.
Ahh, ok - I didn't even think about that as I only did my fronts...figured since either 2/3 or 3/4 of stopping power is front that rear would be alright...well...that and I rode for a couple years without a rear :/
I put an SS line on my rear brake. The OEM has that funky metal section in the middle of the line, a real PITA! I just took a piece of string, or flexible tape measure and measured the length. Was able to use the clip that holds the metal portion as a holder for the SS line, worked and fitted just fine! I've posted a photo before, but don't remember exactly right now!

Well given that these lines were on e-bay and pretty cheap I got a 3 line set for the front that was listed as being for a 1977 xs1100 ???? They were under $100 and I took a chance on a 750 special rear line being close enough in length to fit. It was under $60 and all are new. I am guessing that the 750 and 1100 rear lines are pretty close in length. I hope I'm right.
Thanks for input guys
Rob
