I really like the clean (no shock) look on the drive side.

      finally stopped raining

Liked the color of the shock so well that I had to add a silver stripe to match.....Time to start putting some real miles on her now....Blue streak has been laid to rest.....

I like what you're doing to the bike and reading about your mods.

          bars

I took the original RUSTY standard bars and copied them in stainless steel, ran the control wires thru them afterwards....

            Re: bars

I like the looks of the bike. Nice. OK, slap me down, it needs another shock for symmetry.

                Looking like a twin

You have it looking amazingly like a v twin. I like it and I bet it eats up most twins on the road.

Personally think black is the best color for a bike, car, pants, jacket............just about every thing but a house

While my G is stock colors, do have a few black XSes too...

                    twins

Yeah, it can take out most twins....After @ 100 hiway miles this weekend, I will be tinkering with the compression rate to see if I can lighten her up.....Around town is great as it is set....

                      stability

I'm guessing the top adjustment screw is for compression speed, so I turned it CC all the way to test highway bumps at speed. Took her out on the "Oklahoma Autobahn" Turner Turnpike to Tulsa, Ran her at 100mph for a minute or two before passing Thru Chandler where the Po-Po's can't turn around in the median, Then wound her out to 125 for @ a good minute......smooth high speed sailing even with some sudden dips....passed a few Harley guys on the test run

                        Hey Chop

I'm doing a cantelever monoshock conversion on an XS using a Fazer 1000 shock which is very similar to the R1 shock

I got passed on to a site with the Fazer shock setting up info.

                        Hope its useful

How has going to the R1 shock affected the ride height?
I'd like to keep mine stock or even raise it a bit.

                            height

if you mount it the lazy way (resleeve top R1 mount with 14mm hole) then the ride height will LOWER by 1". Or you can fab a top mount bracket to keep it stock height or raise it.....I mounted my top bracket where the swingarm is parrallel to the road when I sit on the bike....Chop
