I'm running the same battery. I hope you read the instructions and put it on the charger FIRST! It needs a good DEEP charge to bring it up to capacity. If you start using it right out of the box, then it will not be able to reach it's full potential later!

Yes, a low battery can affect the coils and spark. If it gets too low, the TCI will not work. Also, folks have reported some strange findings of weak spark on 1-3 or 2-4 combos, which are not shared by the same coil. The way the spark travels is out one plug, thru the engine and them back up thru the other plug back into the coil. When the voltage gets weak to the coil, it makes a weaker spark, but is sometimes enough to fire the 1st plug, but not the second on that same coil!

Someone referred me to this fix, but your www link just goes to a pic of a very nice looking XS at the moment.

Is the original fix page still up someplace?

Oh, that was a VERY old post, I had to take my website down, sorry, but the process is described in words in some of the posts, no?

Basically, remove the six cover screws and re-solder the row of pins that connect to the harness sockets. Use 60/40 rosin core solder and a small 15-30 watt soldering iron.
