How do you get the snap ring out of the front master cylinder on a 1980 xs1100g.None of my snap ring pliers are long enough. Is there a pair from craftsman or Matco that will work?Or is there something special i need to get?

    Hey Nate,

A search for "long snap ring plier" revealed several threads, this one also has link to MikesXS that sells special ones. But you can find them at Sears as well.

I believe at least one of the links you will find with the search engine talks about grinding down the ends of a cheap pair of needlenose pliers.

My craftsman pliers work well enough. Although, you kinda have to be a craftsman to use them. I hold the plunger down with a flat screw driver. I slide it across horozontally where the handle goes. You must have the MC held on the ground with your left hand, then the small craftsman pliers work fine.
