    Powder coating question

When I have my frame and related parts powder coated should I leave bolts in the threaded parts of the frame to keep the paint coating out of those areas? I am thinking I could cover the exposed parts of the bolts with tape if this is the case
    Thanks
    Rob

I suppose you could. I, on the other hand would just powder coat then run a chaser tap when you get it back. Maybe I'm wrong, but when you take the bolt out, I'd think that you'd crack the powder coating around the bolt hole.

'They' make silicone rubber plugs in a wide variety of sizes for sealing threaded holes. Or, you could use a piece of the special polyester masking tape that is made for powdercoating work. Finally, you can also just shave down a piece of wooden dowel and screw it into the threaded hole. It will take the heat okay too.

That's good to know. I will talk to the people who will be doing it about those plugs.
Also .. I am wondering if I should also get the brake calipers and supports done while I'm at it.

Looks good. How is it standing the test of time? Do you have a PIC of the bike with these parts installed. How did you protect the inner parts of the calipers etc?
