    Gas cap....

Have you tried opening the gas cap. Still think the vent is plugged.

How soon are you planning on selling? Hey, if you don't need the money and don't mind it taking up the corner of your garage, what is the harm in keeping it. Because you might regret it later, why don't you keep it for a few months and don't think about it. Then when you are relaxed, go over the basics again. If you get into a hurry to sell it, you will probably regret it. I went up on a trip to Minnesota to get an 81 standard. The guy just wasn't happy with it. It rattled and smoked. The seat was too high and he was uncomfortable. I told him how to do a few adjustments and did a few myself with his tools. I showed him how to fix his fairing rattle with some big fender washers over the broken mount. After we got it ready to test ride and properly mounted the seat, he wouldn't sell it. We had the money ready to go but he apologized to us and said that we solved everything that was bothering him about the bike. Think about that before you sell. Maby you just need another set of eyes looking over the bike for a few hours. My Dad frequently QAs (quality assurance) my work. Occasionaly he will catch something I missed or was about to correct. Have had no problems yet.

Oh, a lesson learned there, Hobbyman!
I learned something like that years ago...
After driving the tow truck out in freezing weather... I foolishly turned the key and started someone's car BEFORE hooking up the jumper cables. Yeah... like they were going to pay me for a jumpstart now!

                  Kz's are crap

Been riding kz's all my life had every model made and in my opinion the best bikes ever made. I know this is a xs11 forum and i do like the bike i have but it still seems to me there are alot of odd things about the 11 . Maybe its just because i was sooo... used to KZ's new them like the back of my hand . My Z1 has 72,000 miles on it never had any tranny problems the carbs stay tuned handles alot better than the 11 , maybe a hair slower . The one thing the 11 is better at is touring definetely better there. I'm doing my best to grow into this bike as it does have a following and it is one of the old muscle bikes i love...

                    xs11 love

I have to chime in here and say that even with all of the difficulty that I had with PITA she is well worth it... She is dependable now and comfortable. On top of all of that she's kinda purty too. I get lots of comment about her I think it's because she's not a common bike.
Anyway just had to say something in defense of the girl

Sorry to change the subject, but, You wouldn't happen to have any manuals for the 81-82 KZ750ltd twin or the KZ650 four??? PM me if you do. Thanks.

Don't get me wrong xsscooters, I think it is a neat bike. I find it a little disappointing that a bike that ways SO much less could be slower than my eleven. It is definitely more responsive in the turns. I can't wait to get it funning right. Just be thankful that you don't live anywhere near me. I would be bugging the crap out of you for help
