Yes - it is. K1196 is the right kit number and the 1196 is 3mm overbore where as the 1179 is only 2.5mm overbore.

It's a hair cheaper through Pro-Flo, but I'm still waiting on my kit 3 weeks later...

I need to re-upload some of the pictures as they apparently didn't make it in one piece...but I have a page mostly up about 'em:

I'll post the link in my evaluation once the page is finished.

That sounds about right - I had to pay tax, but I live in Florida. But keep in mind there is apparently a decent lead time - I remember it being almost as long the first time I got the kit.

Hmm...I think I posted pics, comments last time I did mine... don't see them now though.

I'll be sure to take lots of pics this time with my digicam as I did with the bottom end.

Basically, IIRC, you just follow the manual's instructions and making sure to check/adjust ring endgap. Only the top end has to come apart - the bottom end can stay in one piece for the job.

Just pop the cams (making sure to secure the cam chain), pop the head off, pull the cylinders off (don't break 'em like I tend to do!), have cylinders bored/honed, clean all old gaskets off, prep surfaces, remove wrist pin c-clips, slide out wrist pins, pull off pistons, apply lube to new wrist pins, install pistons and wrist pins, install c-clips, check ring end-gap, put rings on in proper orientation, lubricate cylinders/pistons liberally, turn crank over until #2 and #3 pistons are up and #1 and #4 are down, and put the cylinders on #2 and #3. Push cylinders down and insert #1 and #4. If you can't get them to go in using just your fingers to compress the rings, something is wrong.

Then install head, install cams, set cam timing, install cam cover. Don't forget the gaskets

Honestly, the hardest part for me last time was setting the cams...I'm always scared I'll bugger up my valves.

Oh...and the other hard part was because I didn't set end gap...very big mistake btw...

It's a bit steep - I'm paying $180, payed $140 a couple years ago for the same job.

I paid about $40 a hole for mine 3 years ago, and $350 for the kit.
