On any other bike, the idea is to let go before you hit 2 ATM, but with the value of the XS, all attempts should be made to stay with the bike to facilitate recovery. There are always decpmpression chambers and major medical insurance....Papa Gino

water in oil

You get condensation buildup because the oil doesnt get hot enough long enough to cook off the moisture. Its better not to start your bike at all if you dont plan on riding it for at least 30 minutes. Keep the battery charged and stabil in the fuel and when you do get ready to ride its ready for you. I used to be of the mind that if I started the bike up in the winter and warm it up I was helping it. After pulling the clutch apart because it finaly stuck so bad I couldnt break it loose I discovered that all the steel plates were rusted. It then dawned on me what had happened. If you dont start the engine you wont generate the condensation to begin with.
I checked my final drive and found it filled past full to overflowing with milky looking oil. Any one else ever get this? It sure seemed like more than a little condensation.
I was baffeled and incredulous. Could it have something to do with the heavy rain i rode in? Maybe several river crossings with no bridges, low water fords. Drain & change, no problem so far.It is a great big beautiful world out there

Humidity... Yes. I have been leaving a light bulb on in the garage just to warm and dry the air.
Sounds like I should ride in Colorado more.
Thanks for great Idea.
