next options - A deep cherry red metallic/pearl (Almost original) or grey metallic.

That means that I'll need a new name for the beast...

If your bike's personality is that of Anakin/Darth, and that's it's name, then it needs to look like it.

Does SWMBO have a *logical* reason for not wanting it painted black? If not, my vote would be to paint it black despite what she says. Like audijunky said, who's bike is it? Who has worked on it? Her telling you not to paint it how you want to paint it when it's your right to do so, is like me going into a restaurant and telling the cook that he has to include rack of lamb on his menu because I want it. At the risk of sleeping on the couch, tell her to get her own d@mn menu.

You should do what you want to do. She will eventually be cool with it, and probbaly like it when it's done. The worst I've ever get is a dirty look and an eye roll. That was when I painted my 4runner flat black.
