Or you could get another set of tank and side covers and paint those whatever color you want.
If not then gray would look real good with some black accents, ie: motor, exhaust, handle bars . . . with little chrome bits sprinkled all over.

Me, I'd probably paint it black just to spite her....but then, thats likely why I'm divorced.

There is always the ruby black (?) that yammy used on the 80 specials (and maybe others), if you can find such a thing anymore. It was black with a red metallic undertone. Looks nice.

Then again, comprimise just leads to concessions....just paint it black and use some "force" to make her like it. Tell her it's not really black...that it's just a Jedi mind trick.

Punch her in the mouth a couple times....Tell her when her opinion matters you'll let her know!!

I havn't had such a good laugh in years!

Took SWMBO for her first ride out Sunday morning, also my first non-commuting ride. Have only been commuting bout 10mi /day. All of about 60 mi, some freeway, some back roads, stopping for a breakfast half way.

While having brekkie, some superbikes etc also pulled in. I tactfully explained that Vader will lose all dignity should I try to slap a superbike paint scheme on him. After all, he is 28 years old!Back home I showed her some pics of an immaculate black STD I found on the web. Eventually she succumbed: "I suppose that will look OK"

Now, as you all know, that may mean anything, but I'll take it as the ticket to go ahead...

If you like the black then give her pictures of mine... if she still doesn't like it then deep cherry red is the way I'd go or you could strip it to bare metal clear coat it and call it naked SWMBO...
