  • removing front turn signals

If I were to remove the front turn signals (read: have already removed front turn signals) would it be possible to make the rear ones function again. I thought that wiring the two signal wires together would complete the circuit and thus allow the rear signal to work. However, it produced more of a missing front bulb condition (where the bulb is solid when signaling). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Camron

try to measure the resistance of the bulb. Then put an appropriate sized resistor in place of the bulb on the signal side. I have never done it, but in theory it should work

      Hi tranger03

      Removing the front should not
effect the rear or visa versa. (at least on a stock XS)
My XS rear worked OK when one front bulb was out......

strange... very strange..... on my stock 80g and 79f, if a bulb has a bad ground or is not there, the lights just stay on and do not blink.

          Sorry,
was not stock, had an auto parts store flasher on that one.
          Turns signals were stock tho

Can get an electronic flasher that will flash even one bulb, self canceller won't work tho....

We've always considered you to have a bulb burnt out, and whether your "Excessive Rear" works or not isn't really something we'd care to hear about.

You'll need an electronic flasher for the blinking.
