    Glad you got it back.
I know the cops have important stuff to do, but sheesh.
The goblins busted my car window and stole my stereo, the cops are like,"Ho hum, yeah, ok, thanks for playing."
What to do except be extra careful and maybe shoot em next time?

Is "They needed killin' " still a valid defense in Texas?

        HATE bike thieves!
Glad you got it back... its usually the joyriders that steal our kind of bikes.
Take off the chrome round covers that cover the swingarm hinge. You got a big nut there. If the swingarm isnt lining up, loosen the two nuts and adjust with screws. But I kinda doubt that is the problem. My bet is on a bent swingarm

I said to him: "thanks! good to know I can steal motorcycles and you won't do anything about it!"
When you reported it, you should have told them there was a dozen donuts bungee'd to the back seat.

You're right, the cop is just being lazy.

I would tell them that I want the fact that they don't investigate these crimes in writing. If asked why, I would tell them so that when your out shopping for parts bikes, you'd like to know it's safe!

All joking aside, tell them that the newspapers love to hear about what the police are NOT doing these day...

                  Lazy cops?

Not pulling prints? Sounds like a lazy police force. My friend had a car stereo lifted in Concord, CA and the cops asked him if he'd mind waiting till the crime lab guy got there to pull prints. Seems they keep a database on these things so that when they pick up the perp for some other little thing they can then charge him with all the old stuff he thought he got away with!

Here in Spo-compton the cops don't investigate any theft or property crimes, even when in progress (unless there's an unavoidable threat to life) they tell you to call a recorded voice mail system and leave a report. They chant the old line about "we just don't have the resources" but God forbid you should go 2mph over the speed limit, or even worse defend yourself against criminals. You will be fined or go to jail.
Good locks, big dogs and a willingness to use deadly force and keep quiet about it have become a neccesity these days.
Glad your story had a fairly happy ending.

Fortunately, this is not up to the prosecutor.

If the police do thier job and arrest the guy, with evidence, the prosecutor is A) obligated to prosecute and B) stupid if he refuses to do A.

if the swingarm bent its not by much, get no vibrations ect, tire is oversized (130/90 16) but it never rubbed before

how can i tell if its bent, what is the EXACT geometry?

again thanks everyone for all your suport

And cops wonder why people hate cops!! Perfect example of how cops do what they want and not what the law says. I bet if it was ones of THEIRS.... they would do things different.

Would they prosecute if it was $26K Gold Wing? Does this mean they wouldn't prosecute for a $12K Neon? How about your kid's thousand dollar Crown Vic? Crime is Crime, What's next? Hey, only half the house was burned by arson? They didn't kill you, can't waste time on an assault charge? Oh, she was only raped a little?

We have enough laws in this country, if they were all prosecuted to the fullest extent with the MAX given more often, even the dumb criminals would figure it out. If they didn't, then at least they'd be off the street...
