Well,
I've had a few days off, went to the muffler shop, they DON'T do bends for out of shop work, only on what they do/put on!
I showed the guy the photo of the bending jack from Northern Tool, and he said that it should work for the 16 gauge pipe. He also recommended filling with SAND(Thanks Rob), said that's what they do at the SHIPYARD. Sounds like a pretty simple way to keep it from kinking/buckling! SO...I may get to play "OCC" afterall! The 12ton one that handles up to 2" is only $99.00, the 16 ton that goes to 3" is $179.00.
For simplicity, I'm only thinking of make 4 into 2's, but trying to mimic the Jardine Spaghetti style for more balanced effect WITHOUT the crossover pipe. So, this way, I should only need to use the smaller bender, essentially just making the headers, and welding them into a collector. Then I can fit some aftermarket mufflers, or even get some SS sheet, and roll my own?? We'll see!
