  • 1982 XJ Carb parts interchange??

Pretty much just need float needle and seat , So was wondering
if the 1980 and 1981 xs1100's had the same press in needle/seat ...Plus several xs 650's ...

And if this carb needs to have the rubber plugs over the pilot jet hole ?? They had none when I took it apart ..

I did try to look this up , but this carb was a tad sketchy on info ..
Now what someone pull reams of data up !!!

The pilot jets were 45's so looks like someone changed them from 47.5 . The mains are 112.5 so looks like the carbs are original ..

    Thanks

    Bob

80 and 81 float needles and seats are the same. You shouldn't have to replace the seats, they usually are ok.
If you don't have a hole connecting the main jet tower and the pilot jet tower then you don't need the rubber plugs. If you have a hole, then you need the plugs.
Standard pilots jets are 42.5 for the 80-81, not 45 or 47.5
I've seen main jets for the 80-81 from 110 to 120 and everything in between.
79 F full cruiser, stainless brake lines, spade fuses, Accel coils, modded air box w/larger velocity stacks, 750 FD.

      Will order

      Thanks Red Bandit ,

I can save the needle valve seats , but I did smoosh them a little, they were so stuck with tar ... wish I was more carefull with them !!

Will look at the main/pilot for a hole or not to see if they need the plugs ..
