  • Carb Hoses ... Where

Allrighty then .. My pod air filters arrived today and I am installing them.
Question ... The 2 vent hoses off the carbs that used to go to the air box, what do I do with them? I am guessing they must remain open? The crank case vent hose that also used to go to the air box, what happens with it? Should I drill a neat tidy hole in the end of one of the middle pod end plates and attach it there or dose it just need to have a filter added to its end.

It's going to be a tight fit for my Dial-A-Jet system so I will be calling them tomorrow to see if they can be mounted at the ends of the pods with their feed tubes facing straight at the carb mouths. If so I will have to do some trickery to mount them.

The carb vent tubes can be routed up under the tank, and using a T or Y fitting, place a small filter on the ends to allow breathing, and keep varmits out. The crankcase vent tube can be routed down behind the engine, but put a filter in it also.

Will gas fumes not escape from the vent hoses? If so would there be enough fumes to stink up a 11 x 17 garage?

        Rob,
with a filter on the end of the tube, you should NOT smell any gas. I would use a paper fuel filter on the end, as you can see if it all of a sudden is getting wet!
